India will be getting the facelift of the tenth-gen Civic that was unveiled in August this year. It gets LED headlamps that flank a thick chrome strip with a Honda badge slapped bang in the middle. The front bumper features a new splitter which gets fog lamps at the extreme ends. The images also reveal the left side and the rear end, which gets C-shaped tail lamps.

Like the old version, the new Civic will also be a low-slung sedan, so you’ll sit close to the ground. The interiors are expected to be an all-black affair like on the global model, with features like a touchscreen infotainment system, sunroof, ventilated seats and climate control. Compared to the pre-facelift Civic, the only major change on the updated model is the addition of physical buttons for the infotainment system.

Powering the Honda Civic is going to be a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 120PS of power and 300Nm of torque with transmission duties being handled by 6-speed MT and 9-speed AT. The petrol powerplant is likely to be the 1.8-litre i-VTEC naturally aspirated motor that generates 141PS of power and 174Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed MT or a CVT with paddle shifters.

Expect the new Honda Civic to be priced between Rs 18 lakh to Rs 24 lakh and make it to our shores by April 2019. When launched, the Civic will rival the likes of Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia and Toyota Corolla Altis.
