In the first of its kind, here is Reliance Industries taking on the allegations directed against it by the Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal through the You Tube route.

Sounds strange but a reality - after mailing a 3 minute video to selected media houses a couple of days back, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) finally uploaded the clip on You Tube for all to see and take note about.

In the video, RIL’s corporate communication department is seen refuting allegations made by Arvind Kejriwal on March 7 at India Today Conclave about receiving alleged favors from a Gujarat Minister Saurabh Patel, in charge of energy, petrochemicals and mining. He is said to hold extreme proximity with Mukesh Ambani.

AAP also demanded Election Commission to take a look into the view and asked it to deny benefits of gas price rise to the company.

Interestingly, the entire video has been recorded in Hindi and anchored by a senior journalist Umesh Upadhyay, also a spokesperson of the company, giving step by step rebuttal to the accusations charged by Kejriwal.

Umesh doesn’t name the minister or Kejriwal anywhere while keeping forward the company’s clarification.

The video terms Kejriwal’s allegations as untrue & baseless, and also politically motivated. Terming such accusations as disingenuous and against the provision of constitutionally recognized schemes, it claims that the accusations fired against the firm are only to malign the brilliant track record of the company.
