German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz India has recently made several organizational changes in its crucial marketing and sales divisions.

German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz India has recently made several organizational changes in its crucial marketing and sales divisions.

Santosh Iyer, currently the Vice President for Marketing, has been promoted as the new head of After-Sales & Retail Training in India. He will assume the new role from January 1, 2016 and will be part of the Board of Management of the Mercedes-Benz India. He is replacing Devdutta Chandavarkar, the current Vice President for After-Sales, who has been elevated as Director (After-Sales) at Mercedes-Benz Middle East.
He will be based in Dubai. "Mercedes-Benz is providing newer responsibilities and novel opportunities to its employees' with an approach to promote internal talent by giving new opportunities to prove their excellence," said Roland Folger, MD, Mercedes-Benz India.
As the VP for Marketing, Santosh Iyer has played key role in reinforcing the luxury car’s brand image in the country and taking it closer to sales crown. In addition to the above changes, the company has divided its marketing and corporate communications functions.
Amit Thete, who is currently heading the event communication division, will now handle the marketing & CRM functions. And, Shekhar Das Chowdhury will head corporate communications for the brand.
