Woman involved in chit fund scam nabbed

Madanapalle (Chittoor): A special team of police arrested the prime accused person of a chit fund scam in Madanapalle town and presented her in the court here on Thursday. Two months ago, more than 40 people of Madanapalle town had filed complaints against government school head mistress by name Nirmala Devi in connection with a chit fund cheating case. Acting on a tip off, special police team arrived at Puttaparthi and nabbed her. She was produced before the magistrate who in turn sent her to two weeks of judicial remand. Nirmala Devi is a resident of Kammagadda Street in Madanapalle and her husband is a retired headmaster. Her son who is working as a software engineer in Bangalore assured the police of compensating the loss amount to Rs 7 crore in installments.
