poorTirupati: Noted classical singer Sobha Raju expressed displeasure over the poor response to cultural programmes held to mark the 501 death anniversary of Annamacharya. The TTD and Annamacharya Project jointly organised cultural programmes at Mahati Auditorium on Friday in connection with the event. The TTD has invited Sobha Raju for singing Annamachary Keertanas, but only a few audience attended the programme. 'Even though I was singing Annamacharya Keertanas for the past several years and propagating his philosophy, TTD was not evincing interest in utilising my services', she said. She questioned the officials on what basis she was denied opportunity for singing in SV Bhakti Channel. She attributed the poor public response to the programme to the inadequate campaigning to the programme. None of the TDP higher officials attended the programme. 'Resenting the differences propping up in the society over caste and religion, I changed my name from Sobha Raju to Sobha Srinandaka, she added.
