Tirupati: Almost all trains are loaded to the brim with passengers as the APSRTC employees are on indefinite strike from Tuesday. All the railway stations in Chittoor district are filled with travelers. The queues in railway stations are very long and the passengers are getting tickets only after spending more time. Many passengers are not even getting place to even stand inside the trains. The private travel operators have also decreased the number of services to Hyderabad, since the demand is low.

The RPF personnel are on full alert to avoid any disturbances to train services and at few important stations, the special party police are helping the government railway police and RPF. Tirupati being the famous pilgrim centre, the pilgrims are suffering more here. No buses to Tirumala are available at the railway station since the RTC employees did not allow the buses to enter into the city and restricted at Alipiri Link Bus Stand.

Taking the advantage of the agitation and bus strike, auto and jeep drivers are demanding exorbitant fares and in view of this situation, the TTD is planning to introduce its own vehicles to shuttle between railway station and Alipiri link bus stand.
