Tirumala: A leopard, aged five months, was killed on Thursday when it was hit by an unidentified vehicle on the second ghat road of Tirumala hills. The animal had apparently strayed while foraging in the Seshachala forests when it was run over. The Forest Department officials were informed about the mishap. Leopards abound in Tirumala. They move out of the forest area in the early hours. Hence, the movement of vehicles carrying pilgrims to Tirumala on the ghat roads is suspended between 11 p m and 3 am.
