I share a special equation with Sirish right from my childhood. He is to me what Allu Aravind is to my dad - Ram Charan

Actor Ram Charan, who was the chief guest at the trailer launch of Sirish's debut film 'Gouravam' on Thursday in Hyderabad, reiterated that his name is simply Ram Charan, not Ram Charan Teja. "I don't know how Teja got into my name," he said.

Talking about Sirish, who is making his acting debut, Charan said, "I share a special equation with Sirish right from my childhood. He is to me what Allu Aravind is to my dad Chiranjeevi. Whenever, I need a suggestion or help, I approach Sirish like the way Aravind uncle assists my dad. He is intense. I thought he would turn producer and look after their production house Geetha Arts. His acting debut indeed came as a surprise to me. I'm glad that our family is producing one more star. Prakash Raj is known for producing path-breaking films. I wish 'Gouravam' will make Sirish a star."

Sirish said, "Acting was always on my mind, but I never thought I would become a hero. After completing my college, I joined Geetha Arts as a co-producer for 'Ghajini'. Also, it was not an overnight effort for me to turn into a hero. I went to Mumbai and got trained for a year-and-a-half.

ram3ram4'Gouravam' is not a film with message; it is a story which enlightens a social problem." Yami Gautham, of 'Vicky Donor' fame, who plays the lead opposite Sirish, said, "Certainly, a debut film is so special for any actor. Sirish is way ahead of me in portraying emotions."

A visibly delighted doting dad Allu Aravind said, "It was me who finalised Arjun's debut film 'Gangothri'. But when it came to Sirish, he decided the story of his film even before I could give him my suggestions."

Director Radhakrishna, writers Chinni Krishna, BVS Ravi, producers Dil Raju, Bandla Ganesh and others were also spotted at the gathering. However, producer Prakash Raj couldn't be spotted at the event. The movie is likely to release on April 19.
