I Won’t Make A Film With Sridevi: RGV. ‘Satya 2’ opened to poor reviews, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma says that the openings in Telugu were good compared to Hindi. “It opened to 30 per cent occupancy in Bollywood and that’s pretty okay for a film which has a newcomer in the lead. As far as critics are concerned I know they love me,” he smiles.

As far as critics are concerned I know they love me,” he smiles.
A pioneer when it comes to introducing new faces to the industry, Varma has repeated the act with ‘Satya 2’. “Genre-based films require new actors as they give a believable factor. It is the same reason that I introduced JD Chekravarthy and Mano Bajpai in ‘Satya’,” he recalls.
Watching ‘Satya 2’, one gets a feeling that ‘Satya 3’ is in the making. Put that to him, he responds, “’Satya’ takes on the system and in the process loses people around him. If someone takes a decision, he has to be prepared for the consequences, only then he will be able to achieve what he desired. The problem with most people is that they fear losing something valuable around them if they take decisions.”
So, has he has lost anything in his journey till now, having taken so many bold decisions in his career? “I’ve made enemies and receiving threats but I lived a happy life till now,” he smiles. “I don’t hate my enemies as I strongly feel that hating someone is as stupid as loving someone.”
Varma has also set the record straight about the threat calls that hogged the headlines recently. “Mumbai crime branch had some information from IB and the police have decided to give me protection. I don’t have any idea about the threats.”
So how is that he is roaming without any protection in Hyderabad? “I know more about underworld than IB,” he quips. On his repeated tweets which said that Pawan Kalyan should float a party, he says, “Besides noticing intensity in his eyes, he is arresting and honest. He has the yearn to do something to the society.”
Why can’t you start a party since you too look good? “If I stand in elections, I will be beaten up.”
With his favorite actress Sridevi back to the celluloid, is he interested to make any films with her in the future? “Not really. I always had a crush on her beauty. The equation that I as a director and she as an actor will exchange, change considerably as Boney Kapoor will be on sets.”
