Venkatesh; It's happy birthday time as he turns 53

Daggubati Venkatesh, more fondly called victory Venkatesth was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He is the son of renowned Tollywood producer D.Rama Naidu. His brother Suresh Babu too is a popular producer.

Venkatesh Babu alias Venky came did his MBA from Monterey Institute of International Studies, USA. Though he wanted to pursue his career in film production, he ended up being an actor in Tollywood.

He started his acting career at a very young age. In fact, he acted in the film 'Prem Nagar' as a child artiste. Venky’s debut film is 'Kaliyuga Pandavulu' released in 1986. The movie got him the Nandi award for the best male debut actor.

Venkatesh made a mark by acting in non commercial films at an early phase in his career, in the film 'Swarnakamalam' with Bhanupriya directed by K Viswanath, which was showcased at the 1989 International Film Festival of India. Swarnakamalam' made him get his second Nandi award for his performance.

Bobbili Raja', Coolie No. 1 with Divya Bharti, and Tabu respectively were box office, commercial hits that won him the Filmfare Award for best acting.

Venkatesh as a dashing police officer in Gharshana and Eenadu made him look stunning on the silver screen. In 1988, Venky appeared in 'Prema', which fetched him both Filmfare Award and Nandi Award for acting.

Also many block buster hits were in his kart with the beautiful southern actress Soundarya. Many films like, Intlo illalu vantintlo Priyuralu, Deviputrudu, pellichesukundam, pavitra bandham, Jayam manadera and Raaja were some of his hit movies.

Again Preminchukundam Ra, Nuvvu Naaku Nachav, Premantey Idhera were comedy and commercial hits for Venky during his forty’s. Interestingly 90% of Venky’s films are musical hits.

Some of his hits like Chanti, Kshana Kshanam, Sooryavamsham, Vaasu, Ganesh were popular.Venkatesh is known to have made a mark every decade. Soon as he touched the half century mark, he started acting in multi-starrer films. Film like Seethamma vakitlo, and Masala saw him share screen space with Mahesh Babu and Ram respectively. He proved that he didn't have a problem working in a multi-starrer movies.

Talking about Venky’s personal life. In 1985, Venky married Neeraja with whom he has four children - .Hayavahini Daggubati, Aashritha Daggubati, Bhavana Daggubati and Arjun Ramnath Daggubati.
