Performing live at Hyderabad Public School on Saturday, singer and music composer Adnan Sami wept, recalling the conversation he had with his late father that pushed him to look after his health.

"After the doctor told my father that my excessive weight would not allow me to live for more than six months, he, who was then a cancer patient, sat down with me and said -Tumhe mujhe dafanana hain. Mujhe tumhe nahi.” And the 'Lift karaa de' singer since then has reduced so much weight that his new slim avatar weighing 65 kgs has attracted movie offers.

The London -born Pakistani artiste will soon make his Bollywood debut in a lead role. "I play an adorable con man in a Hindi movie which will go on floors next year," he says in an exclusive interview to Hyderabad Hans.

Having sung several Telugu songs in movies like Varsham, Shankar Dada MBBS, 100 % Love, Adnan finds the most satisfaction in singing for regional movies. "When I sing a Telugu song, I am out of my comfort zone. Being appreciated for such work, gives me a great sense of achievement," he shares.

It's interesting to learn that the musician has a Telugu name on his list of music composers to watch out for. "DSP (Devi Sri Prasad) is really talented. He has already made a mark in the Telugu industry and his talent is bound to cross geographical boundaries and reach everywhere," Adnan opines. The pianist came to Hyderabad after a long gap of almost 13 years and says he is fascinated by the history the city has. "I have studied the history of Nizams. The city's rich culture amazes me," he informs. "What's more fascinating is the way the city has changed for better. The plantations, the flyovers...there is a drastic transformation from what it was," expressed the singer as he signed off.
