Vaani game for French and Russian films, Paisa, Yash Raj Films, Band Baaja Baaraat, Vaani Kapoor. When asked whether he has locked lips with his heroine in the film, he said: One has to wait until it releases.

Days after the release of ‘Paisa’, actor Nani has shifted focus to his another venture, ‘Aaha Kalyanam’, which marks the entry of Bollywood premier production agency Yash Raj Films (YRF) into South industry. The film, a Telugu- Tamil bilingual, is the remake of YRF’s very own super hit, ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’.

Speaking at a promotional event of the film on Wednesday in Hyderabad, Nani said they’ve changed the setup of the film but not the soul. “It will have an ‘Ala Modalaindi’ flavor. People say it’s easy to star in a remake but I say it’s a big challenge. You have to give more than 100 per cent to be on par with the original if not bettering it. Each scene in my film will leave the audience gasping for more.”

When asked whether he has locked lips with his heroine in the film, he said: One has to wait until it releases.

Lead actress Vaani Kapoor, who has caught many eyeballs with her very first film ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’, said that she never felt that she was working in a language and a place that she barely knew. “The cast and crew made me feel at home. However, there were occasions where I felt that I was making them wait because of my dialogues,” smiled the actress who is nursing a fractured leg.

Didn’t she felt it was risky to star in a South Indian film, especially after her first project proved to be successful? “No, I fell in love with ‘Aaha Kalyanam’s script as it gave me a scope to explore something new. Forget alone South films, if someone offers me a French or Russian film, I’m ready to do them,” she replied.

Directed by Gokul Krishna, the film will open in cinema halls this February 21.
