Kannada actress Vindhya, who was to debut in a film titled "Manada Mareyalli" made a suicide bid by consuming an overdose of sleeping pills. According to reports, the actress had more than 70 pills. Fortunately, her life was saved as Vindhya's parents with help from neighbours rushed her to a nearby hospital.
Grapevine in Gandhinagar is that the actress was upset over rumours of her love affair with her boyfriend. False stories of her break-up had depressed Vindhya, it appears.
Vindhya is now being treated at the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital in Bangalore. Vindhya's condition is said to be stable now.
