Two days after ‘Legend’ audio hit the stands, the makers of ‘Rowdy’ hinted that they would be locking horns with the Bala Krishna-starrer on March 28. Who will win this battle?

This has come as a bolt from the blue. Two of the most anticipated flicks – ‘Legend’ and ‘Rowdy’—starring Superstars Bala Krishna and Mohan Babu in the lead roles respectively, will be slugging it out at the box-office this March-end. Though there were speculations that Nandamuri hero-starrer action-drama will not make it on the intended time owing to the fact that a peppy number still needs to be shot, producer Anil Sunkara has set the record straight. “Many producers vied to bring Balayya and Boyapati Srinu together but the duo entrusted the

responsibility on our shoulders and we thank them for that. Come this March 28 it will be a festival for Balayya fans as the film releases on the same day. On March 31, it will be a ‘Simha’ Ugadi for them,” stated Anil Sunkara.

Made at a budget of Rs 40 crore, the film, shot in Visakhapatnam, Dubai, London and Hyderabad for around 160 days, is expected to release in around 1,000 screens across the State. It would be the biggest release of the summer and eating into its revenues would be the Ram Gopal Varma venture ‘Rowdy’, slated to occupy at least 350 screens. While there were murmurs that the film will open in the first week of April, a press release on Sunday said

otherwise. Shot in a limited time frame period, the film is planned for March 28 release, it read. Set in the backdrop of a faction ridden Rayalaseema region, the film has been in the news for the collaboration of two unlikely towering personalities – Ram Gopal Varma and Mohan Babu. If the recently unveiled trailer of ‘Rowdy’ is a pointer, it would indeed be a mouth watering clash between the two heroes who are known for their baritones! Looks like the battle lines are clearly drawn between the Nandamuri and Manchu family!
