Rohit resisted Regina’s looks: KS Rama Rao

Pending for a while, Nara Rohit-starrer ‘Shankara’ is due for a release, finally! A joint venture between KS Rama Rao and Kinnu, the film’s audio was unveiled on Wednesday in Hyderabad. Speaking at the launch, Rama Rao said he warned Kinnu not to enter the industry. “I advised him of current State of the industry but he was adamant to produce a film. He briefed me about the story of ‘Shankara’; a remake of Tamil hit ‘Mouna Guru’ in Pollachi. The rights were with some others, but we purchased paying a good sum,” said.

Praising Nara Rohit, he said the actor can be the next angry young man of Tollywood. “I’ve seen the film and his performance was on standards with that of Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjeev Kumar. A disciplined actor, he will scale new heights in the industry. When I dropped by the sets, I sat next to Regina but he was no where near her. He even resisted her killer looks,” he added.

Producer Kinnu said that it was his late father’s dream to make a film. “He had two wishes- to see me represent Indian cricket at the international level and to make a film. While I couldn’t fulfill his desire of wearing a blue jersey, I’m fulfilling his other wish,” said Kinnu. Sai Karthik has composed tunes for the film.
