A Day in the City is a collaboration by a group of techies who have used their spare time to bring out a movie with a message. Although there's no big name associated with the film, one look at the recently released trailer will leave you with little doubt that it is the work of a true professional.

Among those who have acted in the movie is also Manohar Ramakumar, who works as a senior analyst at Oracle in Bangalore. But what one doesn't know is that he has nursed a passion to be an artiste right from his childhood days.

His father, also a script writer gave wings to his ambitions by letting him act in TV serials at a very young age. However, his career did not quite take off the way it should have despite the fact that he was immensely talented. Manohar too had to juggle studies and his passion. And at a point, he had to choose the former as the remuneration in showbiz for budding actors is nothing to talk about. So, Manu (as he's fondly called) confined himself to theatre plays and TV serials. He eventually went on to join Infosys to eke out a living.
But that did not kill the artiste in him. When he was an on official tour to Australia, Manu performed a stand-up comedy at Kannada Sangha which earned him lot of praise. He was even interviewed by the radio channel there.
The actor has even directed several plays during his college days and assisted his father in scriptwriting for serials on Doordarshan which was the only channel in those days. He is even passionate about singing which has prompted him to have his own Karaoke club Mano Geethe. His anchor is his father who has led him towards a spiritual path. "Seek and thou shalt receive..I found mine," says Manohar, adding, "Losers are those who give up in the winning moment. Persistence really pays."

Like Martin Luther king jr says, "If you can’t fly, then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward."

Today, he plays a techie in reel life. Yes, this perhaps was his long cherished dream and A Day in the City team is making it real. The film will soon hit theatres. In the meantime, check out what Manu has to say about the movie...
