The upcoming Marathi movie TAPAAL too has been lauded by the Bollywood biggies. At screenings organized by TAPAAL’s director Laxman Utekar, Bollywood celebs like Akshay Kumar, Arjun Kapoor, Sridevi, Gauri Shinde, R. Balki, Boney Kapoor, Imtiaz Ali, Arif Ali, Niranjan Iyengar & Ravi Jadhav spoke about how much they loved the film and why is the movie a must watch!
At the screening of TAPAAL, Akshay Kumar said, "Everyone should watch TAPAAL. It’s going to be an enjoyable film."
Arjun Kapoor was left speechless after watching TAPAAL. He said, "Such movies remind us that every time drama is not needed in a film. The real fun is in the simplicity and it’s very nice to see life happen in front of your eyes. TAPAAL is a very good film."
After watching TAPAAL Sridevi got onto a microblogging site to write about the film, she wrote, "Just watched Marathi film 'Tapal'. After a long time, was teary-eyed & emotionally choked. Must watch film for all."
Gauri too got onto a microblogging site and posted, "My dear friend & DOP of English Vinglish Laxman Utekar has made a beautiful Marathi film "Tapal"(a letter) such a sensitive & lovely tale. hats off"
"TAPAAL is a very beautiful & sensitive film", said filmmaker R. Balki after watching the film.
Film producer Boney Kapoor said, "TAPAAL is a superb film. It is very moving & straight from the heart. Absolutely fantastic."
After watching the film, director Imtiaz Ali said, "I am moved after watching TAPAAL. It is very pure and I really loved the film."
LEKAR HUM DEEWANA DIL director Arif Ali too loved the film and said, "I found the film very refreshing because it reminded me of my childhood. The emotions shown in the film were excellent and to make such a pure film in today’s times is simply extraordinary."
"Pleasantly surprised with TAPAAL. It is a very different, simple & pure story" said screenwriter Niranjan Iyengar.
Marathi film director Ravi Jadhav said, "The movie excels in all aspects, be it performances of the actors or the music of the film. Among the Marathi films, TAPAAL is one of the best movies."
TAPAAL is National & International Award winning Marathi film set in a small village in the year 1977. It dwells with sympathy, concern and understanding on the bond between a little boy and a childless couple, and the social discrimination that they face.
Even before its release, Laxman Utekar's directorial debut is creating the right buzz. It has been critically acclaimed and has even won various accolades & awards at different film festivals for its sterling performances. TAPAAL had its World Premiere at 18th Busan International Film Festival 2013, South Korea. It was selected in Indian Panorama Section at 44th IFFI (International Film festival 2013) and 9 other International Film Festivals as well. It was also screened at 3rd Eye Asian Film Festival and Pune Film Festival.
That's not all. Veena Jamkar bagged the best actress award at South Africa Film Festival. While Rohit Utekar won Best Child Actor Award, Prakash Holkar got the best lyricist award for his emotional composition 'don disanchi sawali ' at the Maharashtra state filmAwards.
