MADURAI: A tourist cab driver was arrested for screening Rajinikanth-starrer Lingaa in the vehicle on the way to Rameswaram on Monday.

After spotting the illegal screening of the newly-released movie, a distributor of the film blocked the vehicle and handed over the driver to the Tallakulam police, who also seized the vehicle.

The cabbie, R Madhanagopal (35), of Chinnalapatti in Dindigul district, taking group of tourists from Dindigul to Rameswaram, in the 14-seater-van in the wee hours, played a pirated CD of the movie. It was noted by some Rajini fans when the van passed through Panagal road. On learning it, Kanthan, the movie distributor for some districts inlucing Madurai swung into action and blocked the vehicle.
