Rakul Preet Singh is on the wish list of every top director these days and naturally she is gung-ho about it. “More than being happy, I’m grateful that I’ve been offered big films. This is what I always wanted to do and I hope I can do better,” she gushes as we catch up with her for a brief chat.

With big flicks (alongside Mahesh Babu, NTR and Ram Charan) in her kitty, she is least bothered about adjusting dates. “I don’t check my diary. My manager handles all my assignments. As an actor my job is to go to a set and shoot,” she insists, adding, “When media interprets that I’m not doing a particular project, the actuality is that I never say no to a project.

If time was in my hands, I would extend a month by 15 days and would work for 24 hours (smiles). But dates aren’t something that can be adjusted easily.” And the actress is happy being busy – not even at the cost of her personal life.

“I’m not my missing my personal life. I love my work and my mother travels with me mostly.” But she surely misses her friends? “I speak to them once in three days. Whenever I get a two-day break I rush to New Delhi to hang out with them. More importantly they also understand that I’m doing well career-wise.”

The petite actress is currently awaiting the release of ‘Pandaga Chesko’ where she plays an environmentalist Divya. Elaborating on the part, she says, “My character is such that I’m sentimentally attached to nature and converse with it. I have this feeling that if I’m not around, there is no greenery at all. Though she isn’t into comedy, you can see the fun side of it.”

She cherishes the compliment that director Gopichand Malineni gave to her. “He was like, ‘I may look like soft at the outset but I’m kind of massy in my head.’ I couldn’t say no to it.” About the director, the bubbly actress avers, “He knows how to strike a balance between mass and class elements. He is extremely patient and handled more than 20 senior artistes at a time with poise.”
