Q. The acts going on stage are taking a massive risk putting themselves out there to be judged, when was the last time you took a risk that paid off?

The biggest risk I have taken that’s paid off is probably agreeing to do this show. I left a huge show and that was quite brave, but I believe you have to follow your instincts in life and go in the moment with what feels good. When the opportunity of Britain’s Got Talent came up it felt right and I have no regrets whatsoever.

Q. Are there any good drag acts that you liked?

We had one drag act that came out and she was cooking, it was pretty hilarious. I love all those kinds of acts, they are eccentric, they are entertaining and the audience always get behind them. It winds Simon up and David absolutely relishes those kind of acts. Sometimes they fall flat and sometimes it’s a stroke of genius.

Q. Does the atmosphere change as soon as you’ve pressed the button?

Yeah, when the buzzer goes it’s such a lift and the energy in the room is fantastic. It puts all of us in a great mood, you feel energised by it. You think about the live shows and how incredible they are going to be. This year everyone’s Golden Buzzer act could potentially make the final. Catch the Hidden Gems of Britain on Britain’s Got Talent every Monday to Friday, at 9 pm only on Vh1
