Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is in awe of Sandeep Bharadwaj, the National School of Drama actor who is playing the dreaded sandalwood smuggler Veerappan in his film ‘Killing Veerappan’ which went on to floors very recently. Sandeep’s prep for the character, especially has taken the maker by surprise.

“Never in my career have I seen a more dedicated and a more methodical actor than Sandeep. It's not an exaggeration to say that he actually started thinking like Veerappan. The biggest compliment a unit member gave Sandeep is by warning him that he could be killed because people might mistake him for Veerappan,” said Varma in a statement.
The film, produced by BV Manjunath and co-produced by BS Sudhindra and Shivaprakash E, is a crime thriller and sees Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, Yanga Shetty and Parul Yadav in the lead roles.
