Veteran producer Edida Nageswara Rao passed away due to age related ailments on Sunday in Hyderabad.

He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city. He is survived by his wife and a son. His son Edida Sriram is also an actor.

His body has been shifted to his Shankarabharam Nivasam at Road No 8 in Banjara Hills. He was 81. He was born on April 24 in 1934 at Kothapeta in East Godavari district. He was the founder of Poornodaya Movie Creations.

Swati Mutyam, Swayam Krushi, Sagara Sangamam, Aapad Bandhavudu, Swarakalpana, Sitara, Siri Siri Muvva and several others were among the block busters he produced. Many of his films won him national and Nandi awards.

Soon after the news broke out, celebrities from the industry flocked the residence of the deceased to pay their last respects to Edida Nageswara Rao and convey their condolences to his family.
