Anushka’s Bhagmati on track

Looks like Anushka, who is currently ruling the roost in T-Town continues to get a choice of woman-centric films. Contrary to the earlier reports that Anushka-starrer ‘Bhagmati’ was shelved, Hans Talkies has exclusively learnt that the project is back on track.

The latest we hear is that the film has commenced it’s pre-production work and might go on floors in December. “The pre-production work is in full swing and the director is currently giving final touches to the script.

The film will go on floors in December or early next year,” points out a source close to the unit. Apparently, Anushka has to come down in weight and look leaner for ‘Bhagmati’.

“Anushka has currently put on a lot of weight for ‘Size Zero’ and as such, the makers are waiting for her to shed a few kilos before they formally announce the film and start shooting,” the source adds.

Directed by Ashok of ‘Pilla Jamindar’ fame, ‘Bhagmati’ is neither a historical nor a period drama as speculated. The final cast including the lead actor will be announced soon.
