Kalyan RamAs ‘Sher’ is set to roar in screens this Friday, Kalyanram speaks about what went into the making of it

‘Sher’ is an action entertainer, scripted on a stylised level, and weaved with a lot of emotions. The time spent before the hunt is what ‘Sher’ is about. I play Gautham, a civil engineer while Sonal Chauhan plays a fashion photographer. Besides the necessary commercial ingredients, there is a beautiful romantic tale interspersed into the core plot,” Kalyan Ram shares.

Despite not delivering a hit with director Mallikarjun on more than once earlier, the actor has joined forces with him again for ‘Sher’. “I I believe in his abilities. I was pleased with the output of our first film ‘Abhimanyu’ and the second, ‘Kathi’, was even better, so I hope this time it would be the best. Success and failures are part and parcel of the life but we’re just hoping that the film will resonate with the audience.”

Prod the actor if is he under pressure to repeat the success of ‘Pataas’ and he responds, “No. Not at all. I put in the same effort for every film. For this film too, I believed in the script and did the role with a lot of conviction. I did not shy away from experimenting too. I continue to experiment with roles and films and that’s my strength.”

He continues, “I tried a few variations in my styling which was well complimented with the way my character was etched,” adding, “Interesting dialogues like ‘Simhalani Tsunamilani choosinappudu who are you, how are you ani adakkoodadhu, etc., will definitely make the fans go wild.”

In a rare sight, the actor got emotional during the film’s soundtrack launch, asking fans not to categorise Nandamuri heroes. “I don’t interfere in others activities and I expect the same. But if someone points out at my nature, family and craft differences amongst our family, I get easily offended. I reiterate, ‘family comes first’, and we (Nandamuri heroes) all are one. I admire all the fans who have been showering enormous love on us for the past many years,” declares the actor.

Former Miss India Vanya Mishra was originally roped in as the lead actress for the project but was later replaced with Sonal Chauhan. Justifying the move, the actor avers, “We shot with her for a few days but we realised the on-screen chemistry wasn’t coming out as intended. Of, course there’s no fault of her but we had to replace her in the larger interest.”
