PoornaPoorna, who will be seen in the role Mohan Babu’s daughter in his forthcoming film ‘Mama Manchu Alludu Kanchu’, is elated to work with the senior actor. “I play his daughter and belong to simple and orthodox family. I’m paired opposite Allari Naresh for the third time (smiles).

It’s not a glamorous role but a character that has a lot of scope for performance. I’m confident the audience will enjoy the comic scenes involving me and Naresh,” she says. “There’s a very good dance number choreographed by Raju Sundaram. It’s a fast paced song, which I enjoyed. Since I’m a trained Kathak dancer, I always looks for opportunities where I can exhibit my moves,” she smiles.

“It was fun working with Mohan Babu. I was little apprehensive because he’s such a big actor. But later I got to know that he’s so chilled out. We had fun on the sets.” The Malayalee actress is paired opposite Srinivas Reddy in ‘Sarwamangalam’, helmed by debutant Shivaji.

Describing her role, Poorna says, “I play a village belle and the story is set in a rustic backdrop. I could not stop laughing while working with Srinivas Reddy. Apart from being a prankster, he has a great sense of humour “. Poorna will also be seen in director Mysskin’s Tamil film ‘Savarakkaththi’ in which she will be seen in the role of a pregnant woman.

“It’s the most challenging role in my career. Playing a deaf nine-month pregnant woman, who already has two kids, was not easy. I took my time to come to terms. To show me as a pregnant woman, we haven’t used any pillow but the director made a four and a half kg belly in Mumbai, and I sported it. I look like a real pregnant lady (smiles). I know Mysskin carries the reputation of showing his actors in the best way, and I’m confident that the role will rank as my best in the decade-long career.”
