Ilaiyaraaja to sing a peppy number

Here is a pleasant surprise and one that is bound to come as music to the fans of the ever-mellifluous music composer Ilaiyaraaja. The latest is that the maestro is all set to rewind the clock and go back in time to croon, a facet of his that many from the current generation may not even be aware of.

Apart from providing the soundtrack, he will sing in his forthcoming film, which is to be his 1001st. The bilingual drama ‘Oru Melliya Kodu’ (‘Game’ in Kannada) is directed by AMR Ramesh. “I was excited with the lyrics and the concept of the number and felt like singing. The very thought makes me feel good. I sincerely hope it turns out well,” he smiles.

“I know Arjun (on whom the peppy number has been shot) since a long time, so when he came up with the idea of singing, I wanted to give it a shot”.
Apart from Arjun, the mystery drama also features Shaam and Manisha Koirala.
