It is an engaging and meaningful affair devoid of any vulgarity. It is peppered with entertainment, knowledge and message,” said Naidu, who was exhibited the film by producer Prasad V Potluri in Hyderabad on Saturday.

Heaping praise on the film’s principal characters Nagarjuna and Karthi, he said, “Nag has performed like he was competing with his dad Akkineni Nageswara Rao. It was a complex role for him to essay but he played it realistic. Tamil boy Karthi too performed naturally. ‘Oopiri’ reiterates the fact that a film will do well at the box-office if it has a good story and message backed by able performances,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nag on Saturday said that his wife Amala's phone hasn't stopped ringing since the release of the film.

"People who couldn't reach me have reached out to my wife and have passed on the appreciation for the film. The success has proved that not all good films are art films," Nagarjuna said in Chennai on the sidelines of film's thanks meet.
