With a catchy title like ‘Eedo Rakam Aado Rakam’ the expectation is that it would be a passable affair. Especially, when the star cast, other than the lead pairs, boasts of the likes of Rajendra Prasad and Posani Krishna Murali.

With a catchy title like ‘Eedo Rakam Aado Rakam’ the expectation is that it would be a passable affair. Especially, when the star cast, other than the lead pairs, boasts of the likes of Rajendra Prasad and Posani Krishna Murali.

Instead, what one is left seeing is a hotchpotch of a forced humour, for over two hours, along with a very ineffective kind of villainy to counter-balance it. The familiar storyline of two wastrel friends, one a lawyer’s son (Rajendra Prasad – Vishnu Manchu) and the other, a policeman (Posani – Raj Tarun), has been milked to death for decades in Telugu cinema.

Of course, both the fathers are helpless in reforming them, even as the duo cook up stupid ideas and go around executing them somehow or the other to keep their families hoodwinked. Even if it means one hiding the forced marriage of his from his family by making his friend stand up for him as the husband while the other blackmails the stuck friend to lend his parents as his own to make his marriage proposal go through!

Of course, the heroines Sonarika Bhadoria and Hebah Patel are space fillers on the screen and the film has no major scope for them to do anything of worth, other than promptly fall in love with the heroes after a token, sham of a resistance. Abhimanyu Singh, a fierce sort of a villain is handicapped by a weakly constructed role and is hardly there to exhibit his menacing acting potential. Rajendra Prasad and Posani just go through the motions, with the former raising a few laughs here and there.

The 128-minute film, directed by G Nageshwar Reddy thus fails to take off and sustain viewer’s interest right from the opening scene. Vishnu Manchu, fresh from the dud ‘Dynamite’ released last year, is condemned to repeat a similar fate with this film even as Raj Tarun shows signs of monotony and repetition in his role selection. After hat-trick success, Raj Tarun had a failure with his last outing and it would be a miracle if this film is salvaged from the pits it finds itself in.
