After taking a bumper weekend opening of Rs 37.48 crores, Eros International and R Balki’s Ki & Ka has managed to add more moolah to its kitty in the second week.

While the quirky romance about how genders don’t matter recovered its costs including P&A over the weekend, the Kareena Kapoor-Arjun Kapoor starrer has earned Rs 12.54 crore in its second week thereby crossing Rs 50 crore mark!
The film also performed outstandingly in the overseas markets, collecting Rs. 12.25 crore (USD 1.85 mn) in its opening weekend. The film showed a solid upward trend over the weekend and continues to go strong over the weekdays.
Considering the genre, the number of screens it released in and the target audience, the makers have much reason to celebrate having collected over Rs 50 crore in two weeks.
Ki & Ka costs an approximate Rs 30 crore including P&A, while the satellite rights are in the range of 13 crore plus. Having recovered over 50% of the spends prior to the release, Ki & Ka with its positive word of mouth and exciting, novel concept is certainly a bona fide hit.
