The first promotional event of actor-writer SS Kanchi’s maiden directorial project ‘Showtime’, featuring Ranadhir and Ruksaar Mir, was attended by his family members Keeravani, Rajamouli, Valli and Rama Rajamouli. Veteran director K Raghavendra Rao, who goes a long way with Keeravani and his family, and actor Sumanth too attended the do which was held recently in Hyderabad.

Recalling his association with his elder brother Kanchi, Rajamouli said, “During my teenage I dreamt of becoming a hero and I used to offer prayers to God for the same, at our village. And when I mentioned about it to Kanchi one day, he, instead of roughing me up, advised to me to try my luck in Hyderabad. He said I’ll achieve what I want to if I’m in the industry.”

He added, “Kanchi easily identifies errors in my films and addresses them too. He should have turned a director long time ago but its better late than never. He has chosen a thriller to mark his debut and with the very first look he managed to create curiosity about it.” Kanchi said that though he never harboured dreams of direction, it has been on his mind since sometime. “I’ve realised it finally and I thank my producer Sudheer Pudhota for it,” he said.

Sudheer said he wants to put Telugu cinema on a global map and so came up with the production house Rama Reels. “In this regard we have tied up with VR Technology. We will be remaking ‘Kanchana’ in Mandarin and Korean languages soon. We will also be making a film with Jackie Chan in a couple of months.”
