The internationally acclaimed award-winning film ‘Interior Café Night’ was released on the YouTube channel of Large Short Films after a screening of the same in Mumbai on Monday.

Directed by Adhiraj Bose of ‘Last Day’ and ‘Goonj’ fame, the movie stars the legend of parallel cinema, Naseeruddin Shah; distinguished theatre personality, Shernaz Patel along with The Viral Fever’s Naveen Kastura of ‘Pitchers’ fame and Shweta Basu Prasad.

The 12-minute film is an engaging story on the subject of long-lost love and is set in a café in Kolkata. The story is co-written by Sainee Raj who has acted in ‘Traffic Signal’ and the famous TV series Shaka Laka Boom Boom.

Produced by ‘Large Short Films’ the movie has been officially selected in 22 festivals around the world (including the Chicago South Asian Film Festival and the Indian Film Festival of Stuttgart) and has won awards at six festivals. ‘Interior Café Night’ also grabbed the ‘Best Director’ and the ‘Best Actor’ award at the ‘Kolkata Shorts International Film Festival’.

Talking about his film, director, Adhiraj Bose said, “The story of ‘Interior Cafe’ is an amalgamation of human emotions and what we as humans deal with in some point in our life. As a story, I approached it in a very realistic way. With the legendary Naseeruddin Shah and Shernaz Patel on board I was pretty convinced of the choices I made in this film.

As a filmmaker it is very important to have an outlet to showcase your creativity and ‘Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films’ has truly made this a great experience for me and helped me connect to the audience. I was also excited to work with my long time best friend Shweta Basu Prasad as an actor and producer and my cinematographer Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran who executed his brilliant camera skills in this film.”
