A source close to the development confirms, “Chandoo has mentioned that he had a tailor-made cop story for Nagarjuna and that he intends to make it one day with him during the promotions of ‘Karthikeya’.

Chandoo Mondeti may soon be realising his wish of directing his favourite actor Nagarjuna in a full-length feature film (Nag has recently made a cameo appearance in his ‘Premam’).

Our sources tell us that Chandoo’s plans of directing Ravi Teja up next proved futile and that he has already got back to the script he had written for the Southern supremo years ago.

A source close to the development confirms, “Chandoo has mentioned that he had a tailor-made cop story for Nagarjuna and that he intends to make it one day with him during the promotions of ‘Karthikeya’.

He has recently revisited it and is fleshing it out. It was Naga Chaitanya who pressed Chandoo to revisit the script as he had been impressed by the way the latter went about making ‘Premam’, which set the box-office coffers ringing.

While Nag has played cop roles in films like ‘Chinababu’, ‘Rakshana’, ‘Nirnayam’, ‘Aavida Maa Aavide’ and ‘Sivamani’ earlier, Chandoo has envisaged a complete different role for him and the script will also address a relevant social issue.”

The source adds, “Although Chandoo is yet to narrate the script to Nag, it would be a mere formality as the actor is in the know of the director’s idea for him.

Also, Nag rates Chandoo very high and asked him openly when he’ll do a film with him at the success meet of ‘Premam’ in Hyderabad recently. The only issue over here would be how he adjusts dates as he is committed to star in Ohmkar’s ‘Raju Gari Gadhi 2’, which rolls shortly.”
