Prudhvi takes a pay cut

Comic actor Prudhviraj is set to tickle the funny bones of the audience in his forthcoming release ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’, directed by (E Satti Babu). “Initially, I was told it was an important role but later I realized it is on par with the hero (Naveen Chandra). In fact, people have been wondering who’s the hero between us,” he smiles, adding, “There’s no spoof on any actors in the film, but there is a small scene where I imitate all the actors.”

Prudhviraj admits that making films is difficult in the wake of demonetisation. “It has indeed become tough for filmmakers to counter demonetisation. I have slashed m remuneration by more than 70% to support the producers. I guess if others can also follow suit it’ll be nice.”

Fans of actor Balakrishna were unhappy after Prudhvi emulating the actor in a spoof episode in one off his earlier films. While a few fans expressed displeasure, Prudhvi says that the matter was resolved amicably. “I thought they (fans) would take in a lighter vein, but it went the other way.

I even spoke to the fans president and clarified everything. In fact, I mimicked Balayya on the sets of ‘Dictator’ and he even appreciated me.” On his upcoming films, Prudhvi said, “I am doing a film ‘Mallappa’, as a lead. The shooting will begin in April. I am working out to get a good physique. The details regarding the director will be announced soon,” he signs off.
