AP Human Resources Development Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao is splurging money on his son’s debut flick ‘Jayadev’. Usually, in T-town films of star kids are made with big budgets. Realising it, Ganta Srinivasa Rao is digging deep into pockets and reportedly spent over Rs 9 crore (including publicity expenses) to give his son Ganta Ravi a dream debut.

The film is slated for release in June, will have a pre-release launch on May 31 with seasoned star Venkatesh as the chief guest as part of a publicity blitz to draw openings. Earlier, he bought the remake rights of Tamil hit film ‘Sethupathy’, a cop story, for a whopping Rs 60 lakh and roped in seasoned director Jayanth C Paranjee, who made hits like ‘Preminchukundam Raa’ and ‘Bavagaru Bagunnara’ for allegedly Rs 1 crore to deliver a money-spinner.

“Ganta knows that the success of maiden film is important for his son to make career as an actor in competitive industry and he is leaving no stone unturned to deliver a blockbuster,” says a source, close to the unit.
