Actor and producer Farhan Akhtar says that Gully Boy has been received well and its been a good opening day for the film at the box-office.
Farhan Akhtar was interacting with media on the sidelines of Lalkaar concert in Mumbai.
Recently releases Zoya Akhtar directorial Gully Boy, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, is produced by Farhan Akhtar’s home production Excel Entertainment.
Talking about the film opening with good response from all quarters, Farhan said, “It feels great, reviews are really good, and words of mouth from the people who have seen the film are really good. And I believe today it has been a good day for the film at the box-office. I hope it keeps going”
Bollywood celebs such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Gaurav Kapoor, and Shibani Dhandekar graced the Lalkaar concert, held at Bandra Fort Amphitheatre, was led by the Population Foundation of India (PFI), Farhan's MARD (Men Against Rape and Discrimination) and director Feroz Abbas Khan.
Talking about the concert and cause, Farhan said, “This is the second year that we’re doing it, this one is called Lalkaar. Last year we also did it, raising our voices against gender violence and this year it is a little bit broader, we’re focusing on inequality, less discrimination, ending discrimination, equal opportunity and access to health and education, that’s the focus of this year”
Farhan also added that it is always special to perform in Mumbai, his home town but unfortunately there aren’t many concerts happening in town.
He added, “It is always special to perform in Mumbai, wish there were more concerts happening in Mumbai, unfortunately, there aren’t many that happen. But every time we get an opportunity to play in Mumbai, it feels great. It is my home town. So to entrain people that I have grown up with, co-habit that city with, it is always special”
On the work front, Farhan Akhtar will be next seen in “The Sky Is Pink” opposite Priyanka Chopra.
