Girl raped while coming back to home

Amethi: According to police, on Monday, in another incident of rape, an 18-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Sukulbazar area by the cab driver in which she was returning home after participating in a laptop distribution program in adjacent town, Faizabad.

This incident took place when the girl was way back to her home, after participating in a laptop distribution program. The victim has been identified as a student of Ramchandra Smarak Inter College in Jamuari, the police said.

According to sources, she was one among the 50 girls, who were sent to Dhanpata Maurya Mahila Inter College at Rasulpur in Faizabad for the laptop distribution program.

The laptop distribution program was scheduled to begin at 2 PM on Monday, which got delayed and concluded around 10 PM, after which the girls were asked to return in a transport arranged by the college.

When all other girls were dropped, the victim was allegedly raped by driver and later dumped her alongside the road. Somehow she returned home and narrated the incident to her family members, who loomed the police. It is learnt that based on the complaint the accused has been arrested and has been interrogated.
