Guntur: On Saturday, in a catastrophic incident, a woman blazed her stepdaughter alive at Boggaram in Epur mandal of Guntur district.
According to the sources, the stepmother of the victim used kerosene to burn Chandramma. It is learnt that the stepmother has been jealous of Chandramma that the entire agriculture land pertaining to her husband has been in the name of her.
The neighbors heard the screams of the girl and took her immediately to the hospital. The police also rushed the spot, immediately. In her statement recorded with the police, Chandramma said her stepmother has been jealous of her and when the family had planned to visit a temple nearby; her stepmother poured kerosene on her and burnt her. At that time Chandramma was her room to change the clothes.
The police have registered a case against the stepmother who is absconding since the incident.
