Age becomes no barrier for crime against women. Evidence to this fact has come out in Srikakulam district as an old man aged 65yrs has allegedly attempted rape on a minor girl aged barely 9yrs. This incident took place at Nadagam village in Narsannapet mandal in Srikakulam district late on Tuesday. When the minor girl was alone in her home, the accused attempted to sexually assault her.

The victim has informed the matter to her parents when they reached home. In turn, her parents called on the police early Wednesday filed a complaint. Based on their compliant, the police have arrested the old man and the victim has been sent to RIMS hospital in Srikakulam for medical checkup. A case has been booked and investigations are on.

In another incident, late Tuesday evening, a Class IX girl student was murdered by an unknown reprobate by slitting her throat near Polavaram village of Mundlamur mandal in Prakasam district. When this incident took place, she was returning home from school. The delinquent was nabbed by locals and handed over him to the police.

According to police sources, P Sindhuri (14)was a Class IX student of ZP High School at Timmayapalem village of Addanki mandal. Around 6.30pm after the study hours, the girl started home by boarding a bus at Timmayapalem. She took another bus in Mundlamur to reach Polavaram village at around 8pm. The girl is reported to have reached her village at 8.45pm. She was walking alone to home when the criminal suddenly attacked and cut her throat with a knife. The accused tried to flee the place as the girl shouted for help. Nonetheless, locals snitched and handed him over to the police.

In the third incident, at Srikalahasthi in Chittore district the police have carried out a snap check and seized Rs 10.5L cash being illegally carried on a two wheeler. Apart from cash, the rider of the bike Mohan Kumar was also arrested by the police, said DSP Abhisekham.

In a similar incident, near Innamadugu of Kovuru mandal in Nellore district, an amount of Rs 1Cr has been seized by the police.
