Hyderabad: The police of Attili have seized as many as 25,440 bottles of liquor at Aravalli village of Attili mandal in West Godavari district. The estimated cost of these liquor bottles amounts to Rs 19L, added sources. Nagaraju Verma, the returning officer of Tanuku; Venkateswara Rao, Sub Inspector of Police at Attili, B Rajagopal, DSP of Police at Kovvuru, and K Madhusudan Rao, Excise Superintendent at Bheemavaram et al are involved in the investigation process. More details are awaited.
Banawar Lal at a previous instance said that by now Rs 125.31cr has been seized from various sources. Also, 74.2kg gold, 708kg silver has been seized, apart from seizing 4.57L lts liquor. He ordered the concerned authorities to intensify their checking as there was a possibility that more methods of transportation of money, liquor and gold will be opted in view of the looming elections.
