Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has said that it will investigate the 14-day furlough - a temporary leave of absence - granted to actor Sanjay Dutt.

The actor is serving a jail sentence after being convicted in a case for illegal possession of arms in connection with 1993 Mumbai blast blast. He came out of the Pune's Yerwada Central Jail on Wednesday after being granted the furlough.
The actor has been convicted under the Arms Act in 2013. He has reportedly spent over 118 days out of jail, either on parole or furlough between May 2013 and May 2014.
He has already served 18 months of his five-year jail term.
