The police arrested six activists of CPI ML (New Democracy) for their involvement in the kidnap of contractors at Manubothulagadda village of Khanapur mandal in the district on February 1. Speaking to the media here on Monday, DSP D Muralidhar said that the arrested were identified as Bbukya Vagya, Bhukya Eeriya, Mada Ashok, L Raju, G Bhadra and P Rammurthy. They were detained by the police at Ashok Nagar in Narsampet mandal during inspection.

Narsampet (Warangal): The police arrested six activists of CPI ML (New Democracy) for their involvement in the kidnap of contractors at Manubothulagadda village of Khanapur mandal in the district on February 1. Speaking to the media here on Monday, DSP D Muralidhar said that the arrested were identified as Bbukya Vagya, Bhukya Eeriya, Mada Ashok, L Raju, G Bhadra and P Rammurthy. They were detained by the police at Ashok Nagar in Narsampet mandal during inspection.

Revolutionary literature, a dummy grenade, cell phone and one two-wheeler were recovered from them. Six others who were connected with the incident would soon be arrested, the DSP aid. CI Venkateshwara Rao and SI Madhukar were present. It may be recalled that the Naxals had kidnapped contractors Venkateshwar Reddy and Shirish Reddy. They demanded financial contribution from the contractors towards their party fund and later released the contractors on February 1.
