Hyderabad: A water tanker ran over a child at Parvat Nagar in Madhapur area on Wednesday.
According to police, Mogulaiah, a resident of huts in Parvat Nagar, was busy filling water for his family and had left his seven-year-old son, Parshuramulu, nearby who was playing on the roadside.
The driver of the tanker (AP 29 TA 7894) failed to notice the child while trying to take a turn and accidentally drove over the child.
The rear tyre of the tanker ran over the child killing him on the spot, police said, adding that the deceased was a fourth standard student and was staying with his parents in the huts.
A case has been registered against the driver under Section 304 A (Causing death due to negligence) of the IPC.
