Betting racket busted, 6.85 lakh recovered
The Special Operations Team, Cyberabad busted a cricket-betting racket and arrested two persons besides recovering Rs 6.85 lakhs and two laptops. According to police, the accused were identified as T Ganapathi Reddy, 40 and J V Konda Reddy, 40, both businessmen, residents of Kukatpally and native of Duvooru village of Kadapa district.
Hyderabad: The Special Operations Team, Cyberabad busted a cricket-betting racket and arrested two persons besides recovering Rs 6.85 lakhs and two laptops. According to police, the accused were identified as T Ganapathi Reddy, 40 and J V Konda Reddy, 40, both businessmen, residents of Kukatpally and native of Duvooru village of Kadapa district.
They operated betting through websites, while monetary transactions were made through online banking. They contacted punters on cell phone and recorded their conversation. Apart from Kadapa, the punters from Karnataka and Telangana were invited for betting. They were involved in online cricket betting since last three years. The police assured taking action against the punters from city and Kadapa.
