Two thefts were reported from two houses of a same apartment in Ramakrishna Nagar, under Amberpet police station on Thursday afternoon. Hyderabad: Two thefts were reported from two houses of a same apartment in Ramakrishna Nagar, under Amberpet police station on Thursday afternoon. The first incident was reported from flat No. 205 of Heera Moti Apartment at Central Excise Colony in Ramakrishna Nagar. U Venkata Chalapathi Rao, 52, a professor at ICFAI, Sankarpally, and his wife, Aruna, employee of NEDCAP, had left for their offices on Thursday around 9.30 am. Rao returned around 2 pm to find out that the front grill door was broken and 34 sovereigns of gold, cash and some silver articles were missing from the almirah.


The second case of theft was reported from the same apartment at flat No. 201 of M Raghu Ram, a software engineer with Ebix Software India Private limited. He left for his office at 10 am. His parents were away for some personal work. “Burglars stole 12 tolas of gold, Rs 20,000 and one kilogram of silver ornaments from the techie’s house. “The nature and timing (between 1 pm and 2 pm) of the two offences point to the involvement of professional burglars,” inspector P Venkata Ramana said adding that the apartment has a watchman but the burglars managed to give a slip to him.
