Man held for sending abusive mails
A 28-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly making threatening phone calls and sending abusive messages to a 24-year-old married woman who refused his marriage proposal, police said. The accused, Md Zakria, working as a designer in a private firm and a resident of Ramanthapur, developed friendship with the girl in 2007 when she was an Intermediate student.

The accused, Md Zakria, working as a designer in a private firm and a resident of Ramanthapur, developed friendship with the girl in 2007 when she was an Intermediate student.
During their friendship, both of them exchanged photos and messages. But when Zakria wanted to marry her, her family members rejected his proposal and she was married to another person in February, DCP (DD) C Ravi Varma said. “Following the woman's marriage to another person, the accused bore a grudge against the lady and on her family members and started threatening them with phone calls and abusive messages and even demanded Rs 75, 000,” the DCP said adding that he later sent their photographs to her husband through Whatsapp.
Based on a complaint by the victim, SHE Team police registered a case and started investigation.A trap was laid and Zakria was nabbed. He was arrested under Sections 66 (A, C and D) of the Information Act, 2000.
