One held for possessing firearm

The Special Operations Team (SOT) police on Wednesday arrested a person on charges of possessing illegal firearms. Two country-made revolvers were recovered from him. The arrested has been identified as Thadakala Laxman Goud, 38, a resident of Fatehnagar in Sanathnagar.
Hyderabad: The Special Operations Team (SOT) police on Wednesday arrested a person on charges of possessing illegal firearms. Two country-made revolvers were recovered from him. The arrested has been identified as Thadakala Laxman Goud, 38, a resident of Fatehnagar in Sanathnagar.
Following a tip-off, sleuths under the supervision of Additional DCP (SOT) E Ramachandra Reddy, arrested Laxman in Fatehnagar under Sanathnagar police station limits. During interrogation, he revealed that he procured the weapons from a person, native of Bihar, five months ago to eliminate his rivals.
“Possessing of firearm without a valid license is an offence under Section 25 (1) (a) of Indian Arms Act,” said the cops adding that he was involved in seven cases under various police stations. “He was also involved in a murder case in 2008 in Medak district,” Reddy said.
