Guwahati: Another jailbreak incident happened in Assam , while four cadres belonging to the Karbi Peoples' Liberation Tigers (KPLT) who serving prison terms at a prison in Karbi Anglong district had managed to flee on Monday night, officials said on Tuesday.

The militants had broken the iron railings of the district jail in Diphu of the hill district and managed to flee. The jail authorities said that, the guards of the jail had found the broken iron railings. The fled inmates were identified as Joy Tisso, Dutta Engti ,Charan Sing Teron and Harison Teron.

Following the jailbreak incident in Diphu, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday has directed to Assam DGP Khagen Sharma to strengthen security in all the jails across the state.

The Assam CM has been directed to the DGP to take all necessary steps of proper security measures in and all prisons across the state. Gogoi also asked the top police official to make a probe into the jailbreak incidents and take stern action against the officials who responsible for the serious security lapse.
