Girl torture case: Judicial custody for stepmother
The LB Nagar police on Thursday filed a charge-sheet against stepmother, Chamundeshwari alias Shyamla in connection with the physical torture of 19-year-old Pratyusha by her parents, who was rescued by police and sent to hospital. The case is related to the girl who was tortured and subjected to physical harassment since last seven months by her stepmother and father named Ramesh.

Hyderabad: The LB Nagar police on Thursday filed a charge-sheet against stepmother, Chamundeshwari alias Shyamla in connection with the physical torture of 19-year-old Pratyusha by her parents, who was rescued by police and sent to hospital. The case is related to the girl who was tortured and subjected to physical harassment since last seven months by her stepmother and father named Ramesh.
The girl alleged that acid was thrown on her face and she was beaten up with hot objects almost every day. “While Shyamla was detained for questioning on Wednesday, efforts are afoot to apprehend Ramesh who is absconding,” inspector Srinivas Reddy said. After preliminary investigation, police arrested Shyamla, who was remanded in judicial custody.
