Karimnagar/Nizamabad: In two separate accidents, eight pilgrims- six in Karimangar district and two in Nizamabad district were killed on Wednesday. The deceased included an eight-month-old toddler. Nine others suffered serious injuries when the Toofan vehicle in which they were travelling collided with a tree in Gajulagandi village under Manthani mandal.

Police said the pilgrims, all belonging Wanaparthy of Mahbubnagar district, were on their way to Kaleshwaram in Karimnagar district. The driver lost control and hit the tree after the vehicle crossed Manthani. Three persons died on the spot. The dead included a seven-year-old girl. Three others died of injuries while undergoing treatment at Manthani Hospital.

The deceased were identified as Satyanarayana, Srinivas, Vaishnavi, Bunny, Komal and Prabhakar. Meanwhile, two pilgrims died and eight other were injured in two road separate accidents at Sampally under Ditchpally Mandal and Balkonda Mandal Mupakal of Nizamabad district.

The deceased were identified as Rajesh (32) and Gopi (35). The injured were admitted to Nizamabad hospital. In another accident, six pilgrims suffered injuries when a van in which they were travelled turned turtle.
