A 50-year-old woman was seriously injured when bike borne unidentified persons snatched her chain near Chaderghat on Tuesday night. The incident took place when the victim, Vardhanamma, a revenue department employee, was on her way to home in Malakpet, along with her husband, after attending a wedding in Nampally.

Hyderabad: A 50-year-old woman was seriously injured when bike borne unidentified persons snatched her chain near Chaderghat on Tuesday night. The incident took place when the victim, Vardhanamma, a revenue department employee, was on her way to home in Malakpet, along with her husband, after attending a wedding in Nampally.
As the couple entered Malakpet flyover, two unknown persons on a motorcycle approached them from behind and snatched away the gold chain weighing three tolas. The snatchers attempt was so ruthless that Vardhanamma fell on the road and suffered grievous injuries.
She was rushed to Yashoda Hospital in Malakpet for treatment. Chaderghat police registered a case based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s husband and took up the investigation. The health condition of Vardhanamma stated to be stable. “When she fell down, she suffered grievous injuries to her head and right shoulder.
She is in unconscious condition, but out of danger,” the doctors at Yashoda Hospital told media.In another incident on Wednesday, a chain snatching offence was foiled by the locals when two persons on a scooter (AP 11 AR 3110) tried to snatch the gold chain worn by a woman under Kacheguda police station limits.
